TradingView on a prop-firm eval

Trading platform · reviewed 2026-07-15 · TradersGuild

TradingView is a web-based charting and analysis platform. On futures prop-firm evals it's usually not a standalone connection: firms that support it either list it directly (via CQG credentials) or route it through the firm's Tradovate account, where a TradingView add-on is enabled in settings and TradingView's trading panel logs into Tradovate as the broker. Support is strictly firm-by-firm — check the list below before buying an eval around it.

Setting it up for an evaluation

  1. 1

Confirm your firm actually supports TradingView from its own docs (the cited list below) — it's the platform with the most firm-by-firm variation.

  2. 2

If the firm routes through Tradovate: log into the firm-issued Tradovate account, enable the TradingView integration in Tradovate's settings, then in TradingView open the Trading Panel, pick Tradovate, and sign in with the firm-issued credentials.

  3. 3

If the firm lists TradingView directly (e.g. under a CQG feed), use the credentials from the firm's welcome email in TradingView's Trading Panel.

  4. 4

Confirm the eval account ID shows in the Trading Panel before placing orders — your TradingView account can hold multiple broker logins.

  5. 5

If you drive anything off alerts, note TradingView's own webhook rules: 2-factor authentication must be enabled, and webhook notifications are a paid-plan feature (not on Basic).

What it costs

  • TradingView plans (annual billing rates on its own pricing page): Basic is free; Essential $12.95/month; Plus $29.95/month; Premium $59.95/month; Ultimate $199.95/month.

  • Webhook notifications are listed on the Essential, Plus, Premium, and Ultimate plans — not on the free Basic plan (per the pricing page's comparison chart).

Worth knowing before you connect

  • Not every firm can connect it: Topstep's own docs state TopstepX "cannot connect to external platforms like TradingView".

    Source · checked 2026-07-15

  • Some firms require your own TradingView subscription — TradeDay's docs say you "need your own TradingView license" to trade through it there.

  • TradingView's webhook alerts require 2-factor authentication, only accept URLs on ports 80/443, and cancel any request a receiving server takes longer than three seconds to process (its own webhook docs).

Firms that support TradingView

Only firms whose own site names TradingView are listed. A firm missing here means we haven't verified it — not that it's unsupported. See the full compatibility matrix.

If you chart in TradingView, TradersGuild can receive your TradingView alert webhooks — each alert lands as a pending draft on your trades page, where you confirm the fill and P&L (or dismiss it) before anything is logged.
