Rithmic on a prop-firm eval
Data & routing · reviewed 2026-07-15 · TradersGuild
Rithmic is market-data and order-routing infrastructure, not a charting platform. Many futures prop firms deliver evals as Rithmic credentials: the firm's own docs then point you at a front end that logs into Rithmic — Rithmic's own R|Trader / R|Trader Pro, or platforms like NinjaTrader and Quantower (each firm's supported list is cited below). If your welcome email contains a Rithmic user ID, a password, and a system/server name, this is the layer it belongs to.
Setting it up for an evaluation
- 1
Your firm issues Rithmic credentials with the eval: a user ID, a password, and a system/server name. All three matter.
- 2
Pick a front end from your firm's supported list (see the cited firm pages below) — R|Trader / R|Trader Pro are Rithmic's own, or connect NinjaTrader, Quantower, or another supported platform.
- 3
Enter the credentials in the front end's Rithmic connection dialog and select the exact server the firm names — Quantower's docs note demo-type accounts typically sit on "Rithmic Paper Chicago" while live sits on "Rithmic Aurora Chicago".
- 4
Connect and confirm the eval account and live data before trading.
- 5
If you want two front ends on one Rithmic login at the same time (say, charts in one and a DOM in another), you'll need R|Trader Pro's Plugin Mode — see the gotcha below.
What it costs
We could not verify any published end-user pricing on Rithmic's own site (checked 2026-07-15 — the site renders no readable pricing content). Prop firms bundle Rithmic access with the eval; any market-data fees are the firm's to disclose at checkout.
Worth knowing before you connect
One Rithmic login runs ONE platform at a time in direct mode. Quantower's docs describe the workaround: run R|Trader Pro in Plugin Mode with the same credentials and server, which "allows you to connect multiple different platforms simultaneously using the same Rithmic credentials".

If you also log into R|Trader Pro separately, Quantower's connection settings have a "Use RTrader" option its docs say avoids paying duplicate CME market-data subscription fees.

Firms that support Rithmic
The firm's platform grid lists a Rithmic data feed (R|Trader, Quantower, MotiveWave under it).
Via Tradesea, the firm's Rithmic-based platform option (firm's own writeup).
Firm's connection page: "Download and install Rithmic R|TRADER".
The firm's help center carries its own Rithmic connection guide.
The firm's platform collection carries Rithmic connection guides for Quantower, MotiveWave, Overcharts and others.
R|Trader and R|Trader Pro listed free during evaluation and funded (firm's own docs).
The firm's own "Rithmic Platforms" article lists the supported front ends.
The firm lists a Rithmic-supported set incl. R|Trader Pro, Quantower, Tradesea.
Only firms whose own site names Rithmic are listed. A firm missing here means we haven't verified it — not that it's unsupported. See the full compatibility matrix.
