Topstep requires 2 trading days in the evaluation, and 3 qualifying days for a funded payout. A trading day = any day with at least one closed trade.
What counts as a trading day
A day counts when you close at least one trade inside the firm's trading-day boundary (Topstep resets at 17:00 America/Chicago). Days don't need to be consecutive, and there's no minimum P&L per day — a tiny trade counts.

How traders actually breach it
The usual mistake is hitting the profit target early, stopping, and only then discovering the day count — or force-trading junk sessions just to log days and giving profit back. Know the count before you plan the pass.

2026-07-13 — Confirmed the Trading Combine max-position caps (50K = 5 / 100K = 10 / 150K = 15 contracts, micros 10:1; not available on the Live Funded Account) and un-held the Express (XFA) payout paths: STANDARD = 5 winning days of $150+ each, OR CONSISTENCY = trade ≥3 days with the largest winning day ≤ 40% of total net profit. Payout caps $5,000 (Standard) / $6,000 (Consistency), 90/10 split.
2026-07-05 — Corrected the Maximum Loss Limit to end-of-day trailing (locks at your starting balance), and added the Combine's 50%-of-profit consistency rule (40% at the funded payout stage).
