Earn2Trade Max Drawdown Rule, Explained
Rules verified 2026-07-15 · official source
Earn2Trade's max loss line is trailing end-of-day (moves only when a day closes at a new high). Earn2Trade's line stops trailing once it reaches your starting balance (breakeven) — after the lock, further profit no longer drags the line up behind you. Hit the line — even for a moment — and the account fails.
How the line moves
Earn2Trade trails your end-of-day balance: the line only ratchets up when you close a trading day at a new high. Intraday swings don't move the line — but the breach is monitored in real time, so a large open loss can still fail the account mid-session.
Earn2Trade's line stops trailing once it reaches your starting balance (breakeven) — after the lock, further profit no longer drags the line up behind you.
Evaluation drawdown is END-OF-DAY, closed positions only — the minimum balance rises from your closed P&L at each day's close, and it LOCKS once it reaches your STARTING balance: after that, your Maximum Drawdown no longer rises (Earn2Trade's own help center).
The numbers, by account size
Rule mechanics are identical across Earn2Trade sizes — only the dollar amounts scale.
| Plan | Max drawdown | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Trader Career Path 25K | $1,500 | Trailing (EOD) |
| Gauntlet Mini 50K | $2,000 | Trailing (EOD) |
How traders actually breach it
The classic breach: stacking losing days without recalculating the line from the last end-of-day high. The line doesn't reset — it remembers your best close.
TradersGuild tracks this rule live against your trade log and alerts you while there's still room — "you're $220 from the line" beats finding out from a breach email. Tracking is free for your first account.
Recent Earn2Trade rule changes
2026-07-15 — Drawdown lock added per Earn2Trade's own help center: the eval/LiveSim end-of-day trail locks at the STARTING balance — once your Maximum Drawdown reaches it, it no longer rises (previously encoded as never locking, which understated room). The Live funded account's continuous intraday trail also locks at start. The earlier operator flag on a suspected doc contradiction is resolved: the intraday-trail article is Live-account-only.
2026-07-12 — Added Earn2Trade — Trader Career Path 25K and Gauntlet Mini 50K: end-of-day (closed-only) trailing drawdown, a daily loss limit that counts open + closed P&L incl. commissions and hard-breaches on touch (reset 5PM CT), and a 30% best-day consistency rule in the evaluation only.
FAQ
Is Earn2Trade's drawdown static or trailing?
It's trailing end-of-day (moves only when a day closes at a new high). Earn2Trade's line stops trailing once it reaches your starting balance (breakeven) — after the lock, further profit no longer drags the line up behind you.
Does open (unrealized) profit move the Earn2Trade drawdown line?
No — the line only moves at the daily close. But breaches are checked in real time, so open losses still count against it.
What happens if I touch the Earn2Trade max loss line?
The account fails immediately — even a momentary touch by open equity counts. There is no warning and no grace amount, which is why tracking your live distance to the line matters.
